04.02.2014: Ukraine: The situation is exceptionally quiet

“The tragedy that has been unfolding in the Ukraine for two months now has come to a very critical junction: The uprising is getting more and more violent. Already 5 people have died in the disturbances and a few have been kidnapped.”, said the Secretary of Kolping Ukraine, Vasyl Savka.

The wishes of the people can no longer be stopped. The resignation of the prime minister is a positive step but was done too late. “The escalation could have been avoided if policy had made concessions earlier. There are hundreds of people who are persecuted and others are in jail. This is not acceptable”, said Savka in an interview in the Domradio.
