Representative of the International Kolping Society, senior civil servant Mr. Anton Salesny was awarded the “medal of honor PRO MERITO of the Council of Europe”.

In the frame of the “winter session” of the “Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe”, senior servant Mr. Anton Salesny was awarded the “medal of honor PRO MERITO of the Council of Europe” on January 28, 2016.

This is the highest decoration of the Council of Europe for a non-parliamentarian and was handed over by General Secretary Thorbjørn JAGLAND in his offices in presence of the president of the Parliamentary Assembly Mme. Anne BRASSEUR, the Austrian Ambassador D. Rudolf LENNKH and other high ranking representatives of the Council of Europe.

In his laudation General Secretary Thorbjørn JAGLAND praised the voluntary commitment of the honored in the last 50 years in the field education and mass media for the Council of Europe and the European Idea. He particularly emphasized the committed endeavors through the Europe Seminars of the International Kolping Society whereby more than 2,500 multipliers had the opportunity to get to know the Council of Europe personally in the years 1979 to 2011.
